Difference Between Reversible Drum & PAN Mixer
REVERSIBLE DRUM MIXER PAN MIXER
1. Cylindrical in Central part having Conical 1. Cylindrical Sphere having circular plates
shapes at both the ends. at the top & bottom of the mixer.
2. One Cone is used to pour the aggregate 2. Aggregate is filled inside the mixer from
material in the mixer & other cone is used to discharge opening at the top of mixer and the mix
the mix concrete out of the mixer. concrete is discharged at the bottom of mixer.
3. Entire Drum unit is rotated for Mixing & Discharge 3. Only the Arms & Blades inside PAN Mixer
of Concrete. helps in mixing & discharge of Concrete.
4. Reversible Drum are based on Free Mixing type 4. PAN Mixers are based on Forced Mixing
phenomenon as the concrete moves inside the drum phenomenon as the blades inside are mixing
along with the movement of mixer unit. the aggregate & forming it in concrete.
In case of achieving homogeneity of mixed materials, we can differentiate between the two Drum Mixer & Pan Mixer that conventional drum type mixer are having lesser homogeneity as compared to Pan mixer, within a specific time frame we can achieve higher homogeneity in Pan mixers rather than Reversible Drum Mixers. How does a concrete batch plant work
How does a concrete batch plant work
What is concrete?- The Hindi meaning of concrete is “concrete” if you see it in the dictionary. Due to the use of concrete everywhere today, even the common people can easily imagine the concrete correctly. Concrete is a composite material prepared by mixing fine (sand, sand) and thick rods (aggregate, usually from 10 millimeters to 40 millimeters) with cement paste, and this mixture becomes solid with time.
Concrete = Cement + Sand + Aggregate + Water + Admixture
All these materials are mixed in a certain proportion to prepare concrete. If the quantity of anyone is less or less, we will not get the expected results. According to the Indian Standard Code, it is divided into compressive strength to illustrate the difference between different concrete, Such as
- M1 Concrete Plant
- M1.25 Concrete Plant
- M2.25 concrete Plant
- M30 Concrete Plant
- M2.5 Concrete Plant
- M3 Concrete Plant
If M45 is concrete, then its compressive strength of 28 days will be 45N/mm2.
How does the Concrete Batching Plant Work? How concrete batching plant works
Infrastructure work in India is in full swing. And being a developing nation, its speed is expected to increase in the coming time as well| Roads, bridges, buildings, hydro projects, tunnel work, etc., whatever the construction, is the dependence of every country on concrete. And no matter what, progress and development are defined by the rapid construction caused by such inventions. Today in this article, we will understand the process of Concrete batching plants and the method of making this concrete.
How to make concrete
Many times there are such works that require a very small amount of concrete; in such low importance works, the sand is kept on the clear floor, then water is added to it by adding cement, after mixing it for a while, the rod is also mixed. It is mixed well for 2–3 minutes to prepare a consistent concrete mix. In a little more important work, where concrete is required in large quantities and cannot be prepared manually, a concrete mixer is used. We will put the prescribed material together, and the mixer powered by diesel will mix it well to prepare the concrete.
Nowadays, many projects are going on in India, where the quality of concrete cannot be compromised. Here, the first design mix of concrete is prepared according to the Indian Standard Code, in which cement, sand, rodents, and even water, and even the equipment are first tested in the laboratory. Each is then mixed in the right proportion so that the finished concrete can be easily used by easily reaching the site. Then all the tests of this finished concrete are done according to the Indian Standard Code. If the design mix is successful in all the tests, it is only used on its construction site. We cannot make such high-quality concrete in a concrete mixer because not even the slightest proportion different from our design will give us the desired results. For this, we have to set up a batching plant of ready-mixed concrete near our construction site.
Ready-mixed concrete
When the concrete in a batching plant is made in proportion to a mix design, it is called ready mix concrete. Usually, ready mix concrete is loaded directly from the batching plant into a transit mixer truck (called TM in site language) and transported to the construction site in the plastic state itself. In transit mixer truck, concrete is loaded according to capacity and transported to the construction site with agitation so that concrete’s plastic state is maintained. There is a spiral blade in the interior of the drum of this concrete transit mixing truck. By rotating the concrete drum in one direction, the concrete moves towards the inside of the drum. It’s called “charging. When the concrete is loaded into the drum, its rotation direction will be in this direction. During concrete placing in the site, it is rotated in the opposite direction to remove the concrete from the drum. It’s called “discharging.
The chute planted in the TM can be moved directly above the concrete site during concrete placing. But in most places, the transit mixer truck cannot reach the concrete pouring site, for this concrete pump is used. TM is often wet by wrapping it with a sack from the outside so that its temperature remains under control and its workability is maintained for a long time. In India, the capacity of those you will often see concrete TM on the road can be 5–6 cubic meters.
What is a batching plant, and how does it works?
A concrete plant, also known as a batch plant or batching plant, is a device that combines different ingredients to form concrete as:
Cement: The cement is brought first and fill in the cement silo. The capacity of a silo to have cement stores may vary, such as 50 tons, 100 tons, etc. Once the cement is stored, we remove the cement from the silo in every batch as per the requirement.
Sand and aggregate: The sand and rod (10mm or 20mm) are stacked and placed. Sand and aggregate are automatically taken from the batching plant as per the requirement and put in the mixing unit of the batching plant.
Water: Water is the most important part of the concrete because it is the hydration of cement in combination with water. Along with the batching plant, a storage tank is created for water, from where the water is automatically absorbed into every batch according to the mix design.
Admixture: Nowadays, the quality of concrete matters a lot. Therefore, different types of admixtures mix in a batch of concrete. These can make the concrete more workable, less bleeding, more or less setting time, and less shrink. The admixture is also stored at a place in the batching plant, from where it is added to the concrete according to the continuous batch.
The capacity of the batching plant depends on the volume of one batch of it. The capacity of a batch of plants available in the market can be 0.5, 1, 1.5, etc. For example, we have a small batching plant of The CP30 concrete Plant model of The Schwing Stetter Company, which has a capacity of 0.5cuM. So ten batch concrete will go in a TM of 5 cuM, we must enter the information according to the mix design before the concrete is made. After which, the automatic batching plant will take the same load of material in a batch with the help of a load cell installed for each of its ingredients. The material for each batch in the batching plant is not taken according to volume but according to weight.
Technical information about ready mixed batching plant
The Indian Standard Code (IS code) 4926 or 4925 is used for the batching plant| Periodic calibration of the batching plant is required to check its authenticity. We have to replace the material with standard weights and examine its on-screen deviation. If this deviation (if any) is within limits according to the IS code, then our batching plant is correct; otherwise, it needs to be repaired. If our concrete batching plant is calibrated and the mix design is ready, we must first check all the materials (cement, sand, water, etc.) according to IS 456.
